The Lincoln 4th of July Committee is comprised of a handful of dedicated volunteers. We work tirelessly year round to ensure that Lincoln and surrounding communities are able to come together on the 4th to celebrate our independence.
The main purpose of the committee is to raise funds for our celebration and fireworks show at McBean Park. Our fundraising goal is usually right around $40,000, although the actual cost of the event is slightly less.
The committee receives donations in several ways — through local businesses who sponsor the event, such as the Lincoln Potters; local businesses accepting funds via donation jars; local vendors who sell food and/or merchandise at the event; fundraisers organized by the committee; and of course private donations from the public. All of these generous donations are tax deductible. All funds go through one of our proud non profit partners, the Lincoln Community Foundation.
We are always looking for additional committee members who possess a genuine passion for their neighbors, community and country.
Our committee meetings are held on the first Monday of each month in the evening. As the 4th draws closer (June), we increase that number to once a week.
This event does not happen without the dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly, to ensure that Lincoln’s biggest annual celebration is fully funded, safe to attend, and spectacular for the whole family!
If you have any questions or concerns about joining the committee please send us an email!
Thank you for your continued support, and we’ll see you in 2018 at McBean!
